The weather might not be playing ball in quite the way we’d hoped, but there are still plenty of interesting things happening in Hereford over the next couple of months. We’ve compiled the most fun, student budget-friendly things to do in Hereford this Summer!
Bands in the Park 2024
Jump on the bus and you’ll be in Ross-on-Wye in under an hour – and if you go on a sunday over the next few months you’ll be able to attend the FREE Bands in the Park event at Caroline Symonds Gardens. From steel drums to a big band as well as brass and silver instruments, there is bound to be plenty of talent on show. Just be sure you wear your SPF if the sun’s out, and take an umbrella just in case!
Silent Disco
Ever wanted to do a silent disco? This is your chance – tickets are £20 but it is for charity, so head down to the iconic Green Dragon Hotel and dance with DJ Rosco. It’s something a bit different as far as “what’s on in Hereford” goes, but it’s bound to be a whole lot of fun.
The Word on The Street
The Courtyard are presenting a brand new, completely immersive theatre experience on the city streets of Hereford. With tickets from £13, this event kicks off on June 29th – you’ll be given a secret location, where you’ll meet your group and set off through the city to experience the real lives and real stories of Hereford as you’ve never seen them before… This is one of the most fun events on in Hereford this Summer.
Hereford Cathedral Escape Room
Available to book on selected dates throughout June, grab your friends or flatmates and have a go at an escape room located within the stunning Hereford Cathedral. At £60 for a group of six, it’s just £10 each and takes an hour. It is 1890. You have been accused of embezzling money from the Vicars Choral funds. The police have been called and they are on their way. You have been shut in the Old Chapel until the police arrive and you have just one hour to work out who has committed the crime. If you can successfully convince your guard that you are innocent, you will be released before the police arrest you… Can you prove that you are innocent?
Ledbury Poetry Festival
Partial to a little bit of poetry? Ledbury is just 20 minutes away by train from Hereford, and from June 28th until July 7th you can attend the UK’s biggest poetry festival there. With talks, readings, workshops and more, if you’re into poetry then you’ll absolutely love this and it’s not too far away from the city either.
There is plenty going on in Hereford this Summer, so let’s all cross our fingers and hope the sunshine comes out to play so we can make some memories and enjoy time away from our studies!
