When you’re studying at college or university, there are certain things you’ll want to have on hand when you leave your accommodation for a day of lectures, seminars, studying and socialising. So have a quick read through this list to see what you should pack in your bag as a university student!
Study materials
First things first, be sure to pack whatever it is you specifically need to study or engage with your course. Whether this includes text books, your laptop, paintbrushes, dance shoes, novels, a calculator… no matter what subject you’re studying, you’re likely to need something in particular in order to do so. A notebook and at least one pen are always handy too, so don’t forget those.
Chargers
If you have a full day of lectures or you know you’ll be away from your student accommodation for the whole day, take your charger with you – whether that’s for your phone, tablet or laptop. In this day and age, so much of what we do relies on having our technology charged up and ready to go, so be prepared and pack your charger in your bag!
A water bottle
It’s so important to stay hydrated, so taking a water bottle with you can really help – make sure it’s leak-proof so you don’t end up soaking or damaging your study materials. When you’re on a tight student budget, you don’t want to be wasting money on buying bottled drinks during the day when you could just fill your water bottle up. It’s better for the environment, too, so it’s definitely one thing you should pack in your bag as a university student.
Personal care items
It’s worth creating a little personal care bag to go inside your university bag – painkillers, any other medication you need to take, hand sanitiser, fidget toys, your inhaler, a snack… anything you know will make a day of hard work easier for you, pack it in your bag!
Headphones
You don’t want to be that person who’s studying with their music playing out loud, nor do you want to be annoyed and distracted by everyone else making noise – libraries are supposed to be quiet but it’s not always the case, or you might be studying from a coffee shop or other public area. Either way, it’s important to take headphones with you so you can listen to music or a podcast while you get your work done.
Your keys or fob
You absolutely don’t want to be locked out of your student accommodation after a day full of studying, when all you want to do is get in your comfies and watch a bit of Netflix! So be sure to take your key or fob with you, so you can get back in and relax when the day is done.
So that’s pretty much everything to pack in your day bag as a student, in order to have a successful day of learning and reaching your potential. You’ve got this!
