Gloucester Rhythm and Blues Festival
Kicking off on 21st July, this festival is held over 10 days and showcases a huge range of artists across a variety of venues in Gloucester. From Torn & Frayed to Texas Tick Fever, there are so many bands to see during the festival; this much-loved event is one you can’t miss this summer, and you can find out more here!
Bob Wilson’s Funfair
All the fun of the fair, right here in Gloucester. Bob Wilson’s Funfair will be in town from the 28th July until the 6th August, with plenty to do. Alongside the rides, there will be inflatables and food stalls as well as other retailers. Entry is free, and if you visit on the 1st or 3rd August the rides will only be £1 each which is perfect for your student budget. The fair will be located in Gloucester Park, and it will definitely rekindle some childhood memories.
Kings Square Live
As the name suggests, this is an event in Kings Square in Gloucester; running right the way through Summer, you can see a different live music performance every Wednesday from 3pm until 6pm. It’s already started, so this is perfect! Performances are free to watch, and are all by young people hoping to make their mark and get some experience – if you’re a singer yourself, there is still time to apply to perform. This is one of the best events in Gloucester this Summer, and really inclusive too.
Arrival – The Hits of ABBA
If you’re an ABBA fan, jump on the bus to Tewkesbury and head to the Roses Theatre this Friday. Tickets are under £30, which isn’t bad for such a fun night out that will definitely have you dancing (queen)!
Summer Jam: The Lakefest Warmup
Hope on the train to Cheltenham and visit the Brewery Quarter where you can enjoy Summer Jam, a weekend festival occurring from July 21-23rd. With bands, DJs, street food, ventriloquists, entertainers, pop-up bars and much more, it’s set to be an incredible weekend – and it’s FREE. Perfect for making a weekend of it or just popping down for the day, just don’t forget your SPF…
Ultimate Rave Summer Bingo
What could be better this Summer than a bingo party?! Hosted at ATIK in Gloucester city centre on July 22nd, this event combines classic bingo with loud music, plenty of humour, and some fantastic Summer-themed prizes including a JET2 holiday, inflatable pools, and even a sun lounger. Expect ‘hunks in trunks’ as well as inflatable palm trees and frozen beverages; tickets are £16, but if it’s your birthday this month then you’re in luck as you can bag a FREE ticket! This is one of the events in Gloucester that is absolutely *not* to be missed, rounding off the academic year in style.
