Are you living at our Blackfriars Residence in Gloucester? It’s a wonderful city with so much to do, and we’ve compiled a list of some really fun events coming up this month in case you need something to look forward to, or you’re wondering what to get up to. And remember, lighter nights are coming!
Gloucester City AFC v Boston United
It might not be the Premier League, but if you want to enjoy some fresh air and watch a bit of football then students can get £5 tickets to watch Gloucester City AFC host Boston United in the National League North. The game is at 3pm on March 9th, and takes place at Meadow Park on Sudmeadow Road.
Drag Bingo
Love drag, and love bingo? Why not combine the two and head to Warehouse 4 Taproom on March 12th for a night of thrilling entertainment, comedy, singing and prizes? It’s £7.50 per ticket, and you can get delicious pizza too!
Gloucester Songwriters’ Circle
On March 19th, and the third Tuesday of every month, you can head to The Folk of Gloucester at Bishop Hooper’s House and bring any musical material you’re working on. All genres are welcome, and you’ll be able to present your work for advice, appreciation, suggestions and tips. It’s a great way to make some progress with any songs you’re writing, if that’s your thing…
Underground Festival
Across three venues across the city, Underground Festival comes to Gloucester on March 30th – and with a ‘pay what you choose’ pricing structure, you can get tickets for just £3. The festival has previously hosted artists like George Ezra and Bastille, and this year you can check out bands like Weatherstate, As December Falls, and many more. If you like indie, pop punk, rock and folk music then this is definitely one for you!
Acoustic Wednesdays
Every Wednesday, at Warehouse 4 Taproom, you’ll be able to enjoy craft beer, pizza, and some gorgeous acoustic music. Clubbing isn’t for everyone, and this is definitely a more mellow way of enjoying a mid-week night out with your friends or flatmates.
March is also starting to warm up a little bit, so it’s the perfect time for walks along the quays, picnics in the park, heading out to catch the sun setting over Westgate Street… Whatever you get up to this month, we hope it’s a great month in terms of working hard and having fun.
