November might be cold and dark, but there is still plenty of fun to be had out and about (as well as indoors!) in Hereford over the next month. We’ve had a look and compiled a list of the best things to do in Hereford in November 2023 on a student budget – so have fun!
Fireworks @ The Secret Garden
Head to the Secret Garden for a night of fireworks and a bonfire as well as BBQ food and plenty of other refreshment – free to enter, this is the perfect spot to watch some colourful and sparkly fireworks. Bonfire Night is definitely one way to know we’re firmly in Autumn, after all.
Elf the Musical
On 14th-18th November, head to The Courtyard to see Buddy the Elf live in Elf the Musical – tickets are £22 so it’s not the *cheapest* night out, but it will definitely help you get into the Christmas spirit and as musicals go, it’s not that expensive. Grab your housemates and have a good old festive laugh!
Cabaret Drag Night
On the 17th November you can jump on the train to Ledbury and experience a cabaret-style drag event with renowned drag queen Anett Curtain. It’s a whole lot of fun and only £6, but be warned that the humour will be pretty crude… Dress to impress and warm up those cold winter nights with some big belly laughs. Drag is great fun, and even if you think you won’t enjoy it we can pretty much guarantee you will.
Amelia Coburn
Love live music? You could do far worse than heading to watch Amelia Coburn at the Jam Factory on Widemarsh Street, on the 17th November. With some support acts playing too, you’re in for a brilliant night of gorgeous folk music. Amelia was nominated for the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards, and writes all her own (beautiful) songs. Tickets are only a fiver, so why not give it a go? This is perfect if you’re into quiet and calm nights out, rather than rowdy club nights.
Thursdays @ The Venue
This one is for those who DO love a rowdy club night! Every Thursday in November and beyond, The Venue has a set from DJ Oliver James and drinks starting at just £1 – so if you don’t have any 9am lectures to attend on Friday mornings, why not start your weekend early with a fun night out? Grab your flatmates or your course friends, glam up and head out for a few scoops and a boogie. It’s cheap, cheerful, and well worth the hangover the next day…
There is plenty going on in Hereford in November 2023, even if you are on a student budget. Plus you can make your own fun with movie nights, creating DIY Christmas gifts, volunteering, and of course keeping up with your studies!
