Brunch is fast becoming an almost-essential part of life. So it goes without saying that if you’re coming to study here, you’re going to want to know where the best brunch spots in Gloucester are! To save you time, we’ve done the research for you and compiled the list below, featuring the city’s best brunch locations on a student budget…
Hubble Bubble Coffee House
With a fun name and excellent reviews, this is a great place to start. Hubble Bubble Coffee House is less than a 20 minute walk from our Blackfriars Residence, and they have a wide range of food options catering for gluten free diets as well as vegetarians and vegans. From dirty fries to an all-day breakfast there is plenty to choose from, and both the coffee and milkshake selections are highly recommended! The venue is described as quirky and the staff are said to be extra friendly too.
The Comfy Pew
Breakfast here is served 8.30-11.30am, meaning it only just falls into the brunch category – but it is still worth a mention, especially if you’re an early bird or fancy having your breakfast out before a morning lecture. Right by the fantastic Gloucester Cathedral, they offer French toast, a full English and plenty of other standard breakfast options for a reasonable price! Located on College Street, it takes less than 20 minutes to walk to one of the best brunch spots in Gloucester from our Blackfriars Residence.
Yanto’s Pancake House
The first restaurant of its kind in Gloucester, if you want pancakes for brunch then this is where to go! They offer crepes and waffles alongside pancakes, and the American-style food is a fantastic treat. There are savoury and sweet options: we’re talking pancakes with bacon and eggs or pancakes with plenty of chocolatey goodness on top! There are gluten free options as well as veggie and vegan choices, and the staff are friendly too. They also do an outstanding milkshake which has maple syrup and even more pancakes in it! Yanto’s is great value, and only around a 15-minute walk from Blackfriars.
Seymour Cafe
Looking for the best brunch spots in Gloucester to fit your student budget? This has to be on the list, as it is one of the cheapest options for brunch in the city but also one of the highest rated. Standard breakfasts made with tasty, good quality ingredients coupled with accommodating staff who are happy to make things which aren’t on the menu, if they can, means it is a favourite with the locals. They also have great vegetarian food! Seymour Cafe is approximately a 13-minute walk from our Blackfriars Residence, too, so you’ll be there in no time…
These are four of the very best brunch spots in Gloucester, ideal for treating yourself during particularly stressful university periods or for visiting when your friends or family come to see you. None are too far from our fantastic Blackfriars Residence, our high spec purpose-built university accommodation in the heart of the city.
