Spring is finally here, and if you want to spruce up your student accommodation a little bit and make everything feel a bit more seasonal then you definitely can – and it doesn’t need to cost a lot nor does it need to be done in a way which means you won’t get your deposit back… Here are some easy and affordable Spring decor ideas for your student accommodation!
Cushion covers
A really easy switch you can make to add some Spring vibes is to change your cushion covers – pastel colours, florals, Easter-themed cushions and other spring designs are the perfect choice. You can often find these fairly cheap in high street stores, and it only takes a few minutes to change them out. Plus it’s a great excuse to put the old cushion covers in the wash, which is something that is so easy to forget to do.
Bedding
Similarly, if you want to make your room feel a bit more ‘Springy’ then change your bedding out. Many of us opt for fleecy bedding or brushed cotton during the winter months, but we’re getting much nicer weather now so these can be put in storage and swapped out for thinner bedding. Choose some with a lovely bright pattern, and it’ll instantly lift your mood when you wake up in the morning!
TIP: get a vacuum storage bag to store your winter bedding, as it will take up much less room. These can be picked up for a couple of pounds online or in shops.
Faux flowers
One guaranteed way to brighten up your space and bring a bit of Spring inside is to pop some flowers in a vase in your kitchen or shared living area. But it can be pricey to buy flowers every couple of weeks, and if you forget to bin them on time they can generate a horrible smell which isn’t pleasant for anybody. But that’s where faux flowers come in – just buy them once and they’ll last for years. You can get some really realistic ones now, too, and if you get types which naturally bloom in Spring then they’ll look even better in your student accommodation.
Easter bits and bobs
Nobody is too old for the Easter bunny, and a lot of the bargain shops are full with Easter-themed decorations from cookie jars and patterned tablecloths to egg-shaped fairy lights and Easter tree decorations. That’s right – trees are no longer just for Christmas. Some people are keeping it going throughout the year, changing the decor to reflect the season. If you really want to go all out, this might be one of the best easy and affordable Spring decor ideas for your student accommodation!
As you can see, there are plenty of ways to bring Spring into your student living space – and it doesn’t have to cost the earth either. Hopefully the good weather is here to stay, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the sunshine alongside your studies.
