Being a student blog, we talk a lot about doing all sorts of things ‘on a budget’ – because for a lot of you, money will be tight during your studies. Today we’re back with another blog post full of budget-friendly recommendations, this time for skincare! You don’t have to spend a lot in order to look after your skin, and starting now will ensure you carry that youthful glow for years to come…
Budget SPF recommendations
One of the really key components of any skincare routine is your SPF – it’s not just for hot summer days or holidays to Spain! You should wear it every day, in order to keep your skin protected and youthful. The cheapest one at Boots is the Soltan Brightening SPF 50, with Vitamin C, which comes in at £6.50 for 50ml. Remember you can get 10% student discount at Boots, too, and it’s a very accessible shop which is why we’re featuring it as the go-to place to buy all of these budget skincare recommendations.
Budget cleanser recommendations
You should cleanse your skin morning and night, and double cleanse of an evening if you’ve been wearing make up! Cleansers can be fairly pricey, but again Boots has some great budget friendly recommendations: Simple offer both a Refreshing Facial Wash and Moisturising Facial Wash, both coming in at £4.50 for 150ml which is a very decent price. These are basic cleansers but definitely do the trick, which is all you need when shopping for skincare on a budget. Other budget friendly brands to keep an eye out for in terms of cleansers include the Boots own brand, Neutrogena, Revolution, L’Oreal and Garnier.
Budget friendly moisturisers
You can’t forget your moisturiser – both for the face and body! One budget face moisturiser that gets a whole load of hype is the Nivea Soft, which is a lovely thick cream containing jojoba oil. It’s £1.79 for 25ml, but they do bigger sizes too. Nivea have some other great options too, but be sure to look out for other budget brands like Bulldog, E45, Simple and The Ordinary.
Don’t overlook your body; with the ever-changing weather in the UK, the skin on your body can easily become dry! The most budget-friendly option at Boots right now is from The White Collection, offering 250ml of body lotion for £4.50 – but they’re strongly scented, so not ideal for those with sensitive skin. Paying an extra £2 for a huge 400ml bottle of Vaseline Body Lotion (£6.50) is a much better bet. It’ll last a whole term, and really nourish your skin. Other cheaper brands to shop for include Garnier, Palmers, Dove and Soap & Glory.
Everything else
In terms of a budget skincare routine, this is all you need – but there are other things you can buy for fairly cheap to enhance the care of your skin. From serums to oils and masks to mists, the options are seemingly endless! Keep these budget-friendly brands in mind, and don’t forget to use your student discount…
