Times are always changing, and one thing we’ve seen in recent years is the rise of ‘studytube’ – a subsection of YouTube where students film videos of their study habits, exam tips, ‘day in the life’ style videos at university and much more. These can be really useful if you are looking for advice or motivation, or want a short study break that isn’t going to have you completely distracted. With that in mind, here are the 5 studytubers you should have in your YouTube subscription box!
MerveStudyCorner | 802k subscribers
Currently studying an MRes in International Relations at the University of Glasgow, Merve posts ‘study with me’ videos which amass tens of thousands of views regularly. She also hosts live study sessions, and her videos make the perfect background noise if you’re the sort of the person who finds it easier to concentrate with something going on alongside your own work. Some of her videos are 12 hours long, meaning you can have some company when you’re working on those hectic deadlines…
Lydia Violeta | 246k subscribers
Lydia is studying Business Management at the University of Leeds, and her channel focuses on healthy productivity – something we absolutely love! Her ‘productive uni diaries’ series is full of really relatable videos, sharing her day to day life as a final-year uni student; they’re perfect when you need a bit of motivation to get going with your day or your study session.
Jing | 224k subscribers
Currently studying Politics at Oxford, Jing shares romanticised ‘day in the life’ content. This includes her exploring Oxford, studying, going to balls and much more alongside study tips and advice for other students. Most of her videos have well over 100k views, so people clearly enjoy the type of content she posts – perfect for winding down while still trying to feel productive, we think!
Fayefilms | 884k subscribers
Faye, from Malaysia, is one of the youngest studytubers on our list, but that doesn’t stop her being incredibly successful; she was inspired by early studytubers (such as Eve Bennett and Jack Edwards, who have now graduated but still have study videos available to watch if you scroll back through their channels) to create content based around learning, studying and more. She now studies Immunology at the University of Melbourne, and her videos are lovely. You’ll find plenty of honest and helpful advice here if you’re looking for it.
UnJaded Jade | 872k subscribers
One of the first studytubers to make a name for themselves, Jade is coming to the end of a degree at Minerva University. This unique private university operates solely online, with students living between the university’s residencies in San Francisco, London, Taipei, Berlin, Buenos Aires and Hyderabad. Jade’s channel is full of study tips, day in the life content, studying abroad advice and much more! Her zest for life is incredibly motivating to viewers.
Next time you want some background noise or something to relax to when you’re done with your own university work, why not check out one of these five studytubers?
