2023 is going to be a fantastic year, and there will be plenty of opportunities for getting out and having fun, making memories and trying new things. University isn’t just about your studies, but about all the other experiences that go alongside it. With that in mind, we’ve put together some budget-friendly things to do in Hereford in the new year!
No Tomorrow
Happening at Play Nightclub on January 7th, this is the first big club night of the year. Entry is free before 11pm, so it definitely fits with the student budget, and it’s a great way to get back into partying after a quiet Christmas. Get your friends together and enjoy a big sparkly dance extravaganza. This is on again every Saturday thereafter, too, with some fantastic DJs taking to the decks…
Westons Cider Comedy Club
Head to The Courtyard for a night of comedy, taking place every few weeks – tickets are £13.50 and you’ll get to see a range of different comedians. The first one of the year is on January 20th, a Friday night, and it’s a fantastic chance to enjoy some laughs with your friends or flatmates. And you know what they say – laughter really is the best medicine, and you might need something to combat freshers flu 2.0 or the January blues!
ABBA Tribute
Split a 15-minute taxi with your friends or jump on the bus to Fownhope (just over half an hour) and see one of the best ABBA tribute bands there is: Abalicious. The gig is at The Greenman on January 21st. Tickets are just £16.75 including the booking fee, so it definitely won’t break the bank – and you could even opt for themed fancy dress if you want to make the night even more spectacular.
90s Silent Disco
This is taking place on February 3rd inside the city’s cathedral, so you can just imagine how incredible the atmosphere will be – it’s not the cheapest of all our budget friendly things to do in Hereford in the new year, but there are still tickets left for around £25. This is set to be a night to remember, and it’s something really a bit different. Silent discos are super fun, and you can choose between 3 different channels of music too.
Rosie Jones @ The Courtyard
With tickets for just £14 (and selling fast), comedian Rosie Jones is coming to The Courtyard in Hereford on March 11th – just a 15 minute walk from our Station Approach student accommodation. She’s been all over TV, and her Triple Threat tour is bound to be absolutely hilarious. This is a bargain night out which will leave you belly laughing all the way home…
These are just some of the upcoming events taking place in Hereford as we head into 2023 – it’s all about curating a work/life balance which suits you and doesn’t break the bank! Hopefully some of these events will pique your interest.
