Hereford Apple Fest, 1-16 October
Spread across two weeks, this fun festival has it all – live music, cider and apple tasting, themed markets, guest speakers and much more. It’s a fantastic local tradition and something not to be missed, giving you a real insight into your new city. A lot of it is free, too!
Discovering Bach in Hereford, 12 October
If you’re a lover of classical music, then this violin concert at Holy Trinity Church (roughly a half an hour walk from our No.1 Station Approach accommodation) is a beautiful way for you to experience some of Bach’s finest works.
Westons Cider Comedy Club, 14 & 28 October
With tickets for just £13.50, the Westons Comedy Club nights are ideal for spending time with your flatmates or new friends – and you can see some incredible comedians! Past performers have included Noel Fielding, Chris Ramsey and Russell Howard. The comedy club takes place at The Courtyard on Edgar Street, just 15 minutes on foot from No.1 Station Approach.
Murder Mystery Evening, 29 October
Want to do something different with your gang? Try a murder mystery dinner, where you’ll get 3-course meal and quality interactive entertainment from professional actors. This one is at the Pilgrim Hotel in Much Birch, which is just over half an hour by train from Hereford – tickets are £39.95, so it might be pricey but you get a lot for your money and it’s roughly what you’d end up spending on a night in town anyway!
The Addams Family – A Musical Comedy, 1-5 November
If performing arts is your thing, you’ll love this fun musical comedy show with music from Andrew Lippa; tickets are around £22 and it’s on at The Courtyard. The show features a live orchestra, and promises to be a really entertaining night out for you and your friends or flatmates! This is one of the most exciting upcoming things to do in Hereford.
90’s Baby Bottomless Brunch, 5 November
Love 90s music and fashion? Love bottomless brunch? Combine the two at the Green Dragon Hotel, less than a 20 minute walk from No.1 Station Approach. Fancy dress is encouraged!
St John’s Ambulance Christmas Craft Fayre, 26 November
If you’re looking to pick up some handmade goodies for Christmas presents, this is a great way to go about it – the craft fayre is raising funds for St John’s Ambulance, which is a really worthy cause. SJA is located on Widemarsh Street, and you can walk there in around 10 minutes from our Hereford accommodation!
Christmas Music by Candlelight, 7 December
With tickets reduced to just £8 for students (that’s a saving of up to £25) it’s well worth heading to Hereford Cathedral and enjoying this gorgeous evening of atmospheric Christmas music! It’s just a 20 minute walk from No.1 Station Approach, too. If you’re looking for Christmas-themed upcoming things to do in Hereford, this is one to watch out for.
Hereford Cathedral Christmas Fair, 17 December
This annual event is one to catch if you’re still at university at this point and haven’t headed home for Christmas yet; with homemade produce, crafty gifts, carol singers and much more, it’s the perfect festive day out. And entry is FREE!
