Whether you’ve stayed in the city for the summer break due to work or a simple reluctance to head back home, or you’re coming up early before term (and the cold weather) starts, you might be looking for somewhere to eat or drink in Gloucester with outdoor seating. The weather has been glorious lately, so we’ve found some of the best places in the city to dine al fresco!
Greek on the Docks
This is one of the highest-rated Greek restaurants in this part of the country, and it has a lovely outdoor seating area for when the weather allows. The view is spectacular and the decor is clean and slick. From moussaka to seafood to beef stifado, there is a great variety of Greek dishes on the menu with plenty of gluten free options too. This is one of the pricier restaurants in the city, but perfect if you’re really looking to treat yourself… or if mum and dad have come to visit/foot the bill! It’s around a 15 minute walk away from Blackfriars.
Toby Carvery
Located in Highnam, this is around a 30 minute walk from our Blackfriars Residence. But if one of your flatmates has a car or you all chip in for a taxi, or you don’t actually mind walking… then this is the ideal place to go for an affordable carvery. Because it’s never too hot for a roast dinner, right?! There is plenty of outdoor seating here and you just can’t go wrong with a Toby Carvery…
Seymour Cafe
Said to have the best breakfast in Gloucester, this cafe is less than 15 minutes away from Blackfriars on foot; it’s very budget friendly, has great veggie and vegan options, and of course it has some outdoor seating to make use of when the weather is warm. There’s not much else to say about this cracking little find, other than add it to your list of bars and restaurants in Gloucester with outdoor seating and head there ASAP!
England’s Glory
This London Road pub is around 20 minutes away from our Gloucester student accommodation, and it has a decent beer garden for when the sun is shining. They do food, too: standard home-cooked pub fare, paired with friendly service and an always-warm welcome. You could do much worse than opting for England’s Glory when you’re looking for restaurants in Gloucester with outdoor seating.
The Abbey
Located near the cathedral and accessible in around 20 minutes on foot from Blackfriars, this is a lovely bar with a pretty outdoor seating area, a great range of cocktails, and a decent food menu too. Popular with students and locals alike, this is a great one to add to your list of summer bars and restaurants…
If you’re looking for bars and restaurants in Gloucester with outdoor seating then hopefully you’ll have found at least one that fits the bill in this post. Don’t forget to check out our Blackfriars Residence if you’re looking for local student accommodation, too.
